Distortion of market mechanism
The ASX folowed the US in banning short selling for 30 days. They have lost their minds, panicking into such measures. True, they want to save the financial system, but as Reserve Bank governor Stevens said today, "our banking system is resilient...." Why the hell implement these measures. They blame it all on the short sellers, but heck nobody blame the damn property speculators who created the subprime and property bubble in the past few years.... What crap, they bail out the wrondoers and wrongly penalise honest folk.
